A Day in the Life of a Care and Support Worker
This research project aims to investigate the temporal and spatial dimensions of care and support work in personalised social care systems.
It is an exploratory qualitative research project that investigates workers’ experiences and the consequences of various aspects of working time and space for pay, conditions of work and working lives.
A preliminary analysis of some of the data is presented in a CPOW Working Paper, Disability support work under the NDIS: Initial analysis of workers’ experiences. This brief analysis was undertaken to inform a larger research project, Reasonable, necessary and valued: Pricing disability services for quality support and decent jobs, authored by Natasha Cortis, Bob Davidson, Fiona Macdonald and Eleanor Bentham (2017).
