In the next CPOW HDR meet-up, speakers Associate Professor Bernardo Figueiredo (RMIT) and Dr Lena Wang (RMIT), will demystify the process of reviewing academic papers and offer constructive tips along the way.

CPOW HDR meet-ups are designed to foster community and ongoing collegial support for HDR students affiliated with CPOW. Our aim is to create an informal and conversational space where HDR students are comfortable to explore the topic of focus and ask questions.

About the speakers

Bernardo Figueiredo is an Associate Professor of Marketing at RMIT University and an award-winning academic with internationally recognised research, transformative collaborations, and industry-relevant teaching. His research interests focus on consumer research and he is especially interested in understanding how the globalisation of markets and cultures shapes consumption and marketing practices.

Bernardo has published in some of the top journals in his area including Journal of Consumer ResearchJournal of Marketing, and the Journal of Retailing. He has also published in the Journal of Business ResearchEuropean Journal of MarketingMarketing TheoryJournal of Marketing ManagementJournal of MacromarketingConsumer Markets and CultureJournal of Brand Management, among others. As an educator, he has published in the prestigious Academy of Management Learning and Education.

Lena Wang is a Senior Lecturer in RMIT’s School of Management. She is trained in organisational psychology, and her research and consulting interests lie in personality and individual differences, leadership development, and diversity management in organisations.

Lena has published in top-tier journals including Journal of Applied PsychologyAnnual Review of Organizational Psychology and Organizational Behavior, Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology, among others. Lena is a current Associate Editor at the journal Applied Psychology: An International Review, while also sitting on the Editorial Board of the journal Human Relations. She is also past co-editor of the book series, Advances in Global Leadership, published by Emerald.
