Explaining the Development of Information Security Climate and an Information Security Support Network: A Longitudinal Social Network Analysis

The research team performed the longitudinal social network analysis on six networks, which described six forms of socialisation in the workplace over a three-month period, to investigate the ways how employees influenced each other’s perceptions of organisational information security.

Dates: 2017 - 2019

The team found that staff who already have a high awareness of information security can play a crucial role in elevating the organisation’s information security culture through social influence. As part of the project, the research team also took part in the design and implementation of structural changes to improve information security perceptions among company staff.
